MRI Construction & Remodeling was founded in 2018 by Max Volkman and has quickly become one of the emerging and trusted general contractors in the Long Beach, California area. Max launched MRI with a clear mission: to bring reliable, professional, and high-quality residential construction services to homeowners throughout South LA and North Orange County.
Headquartered in the historic Bluff Park neighborhood of Long Beach, MRI Construction delivers craftsmanship backed by decades of hands-on experience and construction management expertise.
Our Story
Max began his construction career in the Washington, D.C. area in 2002 as a laborer for a small general contractor. His dedication and work ethic quickly advanced him into framing and multiple trade roles. Shortly after, he earned a position as an Assistant Superintendent, setting the foundation for a long career in construction and project management.
In 2004, Max relocated to San Diego, where he continued moving up the ranks — from Superintendent to Project Engineer and ultimately Project Manager, a role he held for seven years before founding MRI Construction.
With 20+ years in the construction industry, most of it in project management, Max has overseen:
300+ completed projects
Over $22,500,000 in total construction value
His experience spans residential remodels, additions, ADUs, restoration work, and high-complexity construction projects — all delivered with precision and commitment to quality.
About Max
Originally from the Washington, D.C. metro area, Max has proudly called Southern California home since 2004 and Long Beach home since 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management, giving him both the technical and operational expertise to run and deliver well-organized, transparent, and smooth construction projects.
