Our Story
MRI Construction & Remodeling was founded in 2018 by Max Volkman and has quickly become one of the most trusted and emerging general contractors in the Long Beach, California area. Max launched MRI Construction with a simple mission: to bring reliable, high-quality residential contracting to the South LA and North Orange County regions.
Headquartered in the historic Bluff Park neighborhood of Long Beach, MRI has grown into a reputable brand built on integrity, consistency, and craftsmanship.
Meet the Founder — Max Volkman
Max began his construction career in the Washington, D.C. area in 2002, starting as a laborer for a small general contractor. His work ethic and talent quickly moved him into framing and other skilled trades before advancing to an Assistant Superintendent role.
In 2004, Max relocated to San Diego, where he continued to climb the ranks in construction management. Over his 20+ year career, he has held roles such as:
Superintendent
Project Engineer
Project Manager (7 years prior to founding MRI)
With over 300 projects successfully completed — totaling $22,500,000+ in construction — Max brings unmatched experience to every job. His background in both hands-on construction and high-level management allows MRI Construction to deliver projects with precision, transparency, and professionalism.
Max holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management.
Originally from the Washington, D.C. metro area, he has proudly called Southern California home since 2004 and Long Beach home since 2014.
